Penstock Pipes Flow Measurement
Penstock large diameter pipes, Ex. municipal supply systems, purification and wastewater lines flow measurements are made with 2 different methods. Line Type Electromagnetic flowmeters or ultrasonic flowmeters that measures with external sound waves without interfering with the line. Examples of line type models' large pipe diameter are available until DN 6000. Using them cannot even be considered when you take the elements such as transportation, assembly and cost to account. It would be quite inconvenient to transport these similar diametered gigantic instruments to places that are often out of the cities and difficult to access.
The most ideal system for penstock large diameter pipes is ultrasonic flow measurements made via sensor probes placed over the pipes from the exterior. Its a lot more appealing than the other measurement principles with it's low cost and easy mounting. With it's mounting on all pipes that are non-concrete by 2 probes in certain shapes (Z, W, N), conversing the signals given by the sensors to flow data or with its stationery tracing devices, ultrasonic flow meters are the most ideal solution for the large diametered pipes.
